I’ll also be speaking at the San Francisco Writers Conference in February 2020! Early registration is open now.
At the conference, someone in the group asked me to post the loglines from the session on this page. You can find them on filmdaily.tv (as well as others).
Here are the ones we discussed in the session:
THE GODFATHER – The aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.
SILENCE OF THE LAMBS – A young FBI cadet must confide in an incarcerated and maipulative killer to receive his help on catching another serial killer who skins his victims.
REAR WINDOW – A wheelchair bound photographer spies on his neighbors from his apartment window and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder.
THE HANGOVER – A Las Vegas-set comedy centered aound three groomsment who lose their about-to-be-wed buddy during their drunken misadventures, then must retrace their steps in order to find him.
APOCALYPSE NOW – During the U.S.-Vietnam War, Captain Willard is sent on a dangerous mission into Cambodia to assassinate a renegate colonel who has set himself up as a god among a local tribe. (Note that because the time period is important, it is included in the logline. This is almost always done at the beginning).
CASABLANCA – Set in unoccupied Africa during the early days of World War II: An American expatriate meet a former lover, with unforeseen complications. (Note that because the time period is important, it is included in the logline. This is almost always done at the beginning.)
